Project PROM
 
 
The international exchange of Ph.D. students and academic staff at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.
 
The Faculty of Physics, Astronomy, and Informatics at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń invites you to participate in the PROM program, offering a wide range of opportunities for students, PhD candidates, and academic staff. The goal of the project is to enhance the internationalization of NCU and improve the quality of education through academic mobility. The project will encompass a total of 124 mobilities, including internships, participation in prestigious conferences, as well as summer and winter schools. The project is being implemented in cooperation with the Faculty of Chemistry, the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, the Faculty of Biological and Veterinary Sciences, the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Spatial Management, and the Interdisciplinary Centre for Modern Technologies at NCU.

 

Why participate?

The PROM project offers an excellent opportunity for academic and professional development through participation in the scientific conference (PROM project regulation - PDF).

The aim is the co-funding of the active participation of foreign Ph.D. at conferences organized by Faculty of Chemistry NCU M3-S International Scientific Conference "Applied polymers, nanomaterials, membranes, and composites".

During conference Ph.D. students will be obliged to present the results of their research in the form of a conference poster or presentation.

 

Who can apply?

We are pleased to offer 10 travel grants (funded by NAWA - Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange) for foreign PhD students to support the participation in M3-S conference. Please note, that this travel grant does not cover conference fee (it must be paid by participant). 

 

Rules of the co-funding

Accommodation and travel expenses are calculated on the basis of a lump sum taking into account the length of stay and the distance to the destination (Annex No. 1 to the Regulations - PDF). The exact amount of the co-funding can be determined by using the calculator’s cost - here

 

Application procedure

The call for applications will be opened between 1st of December 2024 and 10th of January 2025. The list of participants selected for co-funding will be announced on 1st February 2025.

Applications shall be submitted in English by forms on website of PROM project – MS Word file

 

A complete application should contain:

  • CV with list of publications (max 2 pages A4),
  • proof of Doctoral Status- A certificate from the home university 

  • cover letter specifying the connection between the planned trip and the theme of the Ph.D. thesis

  • (optional) recommendation letter from the Ph.D. advisor

  • information about the planned conference presentation and abstract (max 1 page A4)

  • estimate of the cost of the trip.

To retain the grant, awarded students are required to complete full conference registration and confirm their PhD student status at the time of the event.
